Concentrate

Concentrate: "to come or cause to come to a single purpose or aim" - Oxford dictionary

Concentrate was founded by Callan Morgan and Julian Featherston in 1997 with the main motive to supply the demand for professionally made, well engineered fire twirling equipment. The fire twirling scene had not yet developed into the industry that it is today and was in a way being piggy backed off the juggling industry.

The objective of Concentrate was to bring together all the pockets of fire twirlers and performers, hence the name " Concentrate". A weekly fire twirling gathering was started by Concentrate in Melbourne, providing a regular place for fire twirlers to meet. Concentrate also had a large involvement, over many years, in organising the fire twirling circles at a festival called "Confest". A few years down the track saw Callan venturing abroad to both perform and promote Concentrate at festivals such as the European Juggling Convention.

In 2002 Callan and Julian parted ways with Julian moving on to pursue a career in Exhibition design.

Callan taking on the massive task of managing the sales, manufacturing, and product development used this time to overhaul Concentrate. So a new factory was set up, new models of the existing products, such as the inner core 3 piece fire staff, were developed and produced and the next chapter in the Company was written.

Throughout this time Callan was extensively performing in fire and circus shows throughout Australia and the world. Although this put a huge demand on him, it has meant that the products produced by Concentrate have been designed with an inside knowledge and understanding of both fire twirling and circus.

The past three years has seen Concentrate enter the world of illuminated equipment. After getting submerged in the land of LED's, resistors and capacitors they surfaced with a range of super bright and durable light gear with independently housed electronics that are interchangeable between their light twirling products. The first product from this range was the "C2 light twirling staff" which was released in November 2007. The "C2 light twirling poi" are now also available.  In amongst designing fire and light twirling equipment Concentrate has also been heavily involved in developing specialised circus equipment for performers.  Soon the circus category will be launched with trapezes and hand balancing equipment.

The constant evolution of the existing product range and innovation of new equipment means there is always something on the go around the Concentrate factory.
