FIRE SAFETY AND DIRECTIONS
Concentrate takes no responsibility for any incidents that occur due to the use or misuse of the information that follows:

BODY
- Avoid baggy clothes and garments made from flammable material.
- Tie back long hair.
- Be aware of yourself and others. ie, intoxication of all sorts is a problem.
- Be aware of your surroundings.

FIRE AREA
-Ensure that the surface that you are twirling on is clear of debris and flammable substances. ie, dry grass or leaves.
-Allocate a safe perimeter for spectators to watch from.
-Have a set number of twirlers for the size of the area. 2-3 twirlers is a good number and allows each performance to be focused on.
-Designate a dipping area and an igniting area that are well seperated.
-Keep the bulk of your fuel 10m+ from the main twirling and ignition area.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT
-Fire blanket.
-Dry powder fire extinguisher.
-First aid kit: paw paw cream and aloe vera are great for healing burns.
-A bucket of sand to absorb fuel spills.
-Torch.

FIRE EQUIPMENT AND WICKS
- Always check the condition of your fire equipment before you use it.
-Tighten screws, replace wick as soon as it gets old and starts to fray as disintergrating wicks can spread fire and cause harm.

NEW WICKS
Step 1-Totally submerge the wicks in the fuel until the bubbles stop.
Step 2-Shake staff vigorously removing excess fuel.
Step 3-Ignite and blow out each wick five times. This cures the fibres in the wick.
Step 4-Repeat steps 1+2 and your staff is ready for twirling.

- Blowing out your wicks before all the fuel is consumed prevents the burning of the wick itself.
-To extend the life of your wicks, dip them again after you have extinguished them for the last time. This stops the wick from smouldering and wasting away.

FUEL
Recommended fuels to use are:
- Shell sol T: available through Concentrate.
-Fire water: available through Juggleart.
-Lamp oils: available at most supermarkets.

-Clearly label your fuel container.
-Your fuel should alwys be stored in an appropriate grade container.
-Use a metal dipping container. DO NOT use plastic as it may melt.
